This is our briefing and brainstorming session for scope of works and concept ideas for your space.
Whether you are embarking on a new build, renovation or simply updating a couple of rooms, the conscious design choices you make can have an astonishing positive effect on your health, and that of the planet. I will gather information about your lifestyle, aesthetics, style, colour preferences and dislikes, and discuss any problematic areas and solutions for them.
This is also the best time to discuss your project budget. I encourage you to prepare any questions or gather any images you are inspired by, prior to our consultation, though not essential.

It is possible to transform your home into an eco-friendly and stylish space without compromising your budget. I’m sure you have at least one item of furniture that could do with some love and given a new lease of life. If you are at the beginning of your sustainable journey, patience and tenacity is key. It’s important to reflect what style you are drawn to and how your household functions. I suggest starting small. One room at a time. One section at a time.
Browsing Vintage stores and op shops are a favourite past-time of mine. I love the juxtaposition of curating mixed items of vintage with modern. Example is a vintage dining table with modern dining chairs. It can be anything. Adding vintage pieces builds depth, textures and layers of history and character, adding to the charm of your individuality, blending stories of the past with the present. The best thing is that you are helping to minimize waste going to landfill. One item is better than none.
Ultimately, my vision is about leaving a viable and conscious environmental footprint, big or small, based on mindful choices which last longer than seasonal trends.

The Design Process

To make sure I can best help you, a brief overview of what you are wanting will tell me if my services are best suited for you or I might be able to refer you onto someone more fitting for your project.

This is where we deep dive into your project and I get to know and understand your complete vision to customize your space. What is your deadline and budget? Is it a reno, extension, or a refresh of rooms? Discuss potential Builders/Cabinetmakers. What style and colours are you drawn to? Inspirational images are always helpful but not imperative.

Following the brief, A personalized Design Proposal is offered via email along with my contract terms. To confirm acceptance, a signed contract and 60% of payment is required before proceeding further.

Pulling your vision together into tangible reality through colour schemes, mood boards, sampling, 3D rendered models, floor plans, elevations, electrical layout and furniture layouts. This is dependent on what is included in the Design Proposal. Presentation may be via zoom or in person.

Constructive feedback and review is essential to make sure you are 100% happy with the Concept Design for any further reasonable minor changes. A complete redesign incurs an additional cost.

This may include sourcing and procurement of project materials for floor and wall finishes, cabinetry and benchtops, hardware, furniture, lighting, window treatments, soft furnishings, artwork and decor.

Final 40% payment is due prior to construction and transformation to begin! I will be there checking in to make sure the process is running smoothly.

Colour inspiration is everywhere yet do we use it to our benefit or tuck it away in the background without too much thought? Colour influences our fashion choices so why are we likely to gloss over it in the spaces we live?
The colours we use can alter our moods. Colour exploration can be a process of self-discovery and no, it’s not woo woo. It sounds deep but you do have a relationship with colour and how it makes you feel.
The type of paint we use affects our health and wellbeing, especially if you or family members have allergies. I specify low VOC or non-toxic paints, or using natural materials from the earth.
Whether you are wanting to create a space to relax or feel energized, a successful colour scheme means identifying colours you are drawn to and your design style.
